The Heritage Sweater: A Free Crochet Pattern for Girls
The Inspiration I have two sons. My sister has two sons. We live next door to each other. That’s a lot of boys! I normally target my crochet designs for boys, since that is who I have at my disposal for modelling. I love boys, I love playing in the dirt and catching frogs. However, I am also a big fan of pink, lace and all things girly. So when I found out that my sister was expecting a baby girl, I was so exctited to start crocheting for my little niece! The Yarn I reached out to Briggs and Little, a Canadian Woolen Mill, to ask if they wanted…

Quick and Easy Beanie for Men
When Ashley from Edyth Blayn Crochet asked me if I wanted to submit a free pattern for Crochet for a Cause I knew this was the hat I wanted to contribute! It’s super easy and quick to make, hence the name: The Quick and Easy Beanie for Men! If you haven’t heard yet, Crochet for a Cause is a bunch of crochet designers like myself that have been brought together by Edyth Blayn Crochet to provide free crochet hat and scarf patterns to makers like yourself all summer long. Our hope is that by providing these free patterns, you will use these patterns to make items to donate to those…

Striped Scarf Crochet Pattern for Men
My husband does not often wear scarves, but he loves this Striped Scarf Crochet Pattern for men, thankfully! It makes me so happy when he’ll actually wear something I make for him. I designed it specifically with the Jonathan Beanie in mind. The composition is similar by being composed mainly of half double crochet stitches and two rows of single crochet stitches in a contrasting color. This pattern is super easy to make, it’s a simple construction and a great mindless project to make while binging your favourite show, I’m trying to multi-task and am currently watching one of my favorites, Heartland on Netflix, while I type up this post!…

Cabled Beanie Crochet Pattern for Men
I love crocheting for my family! I love seeing them wear the pieces I have made them like this Cabled Beanie. I might be a bit biased, but I do think Jonathan looks great in this hat, and the cables make the beanie unique and interesting and the blue is such a nice pop of colour! I’ve designed this pattern to come in several sizes for boys and men, this post only includes the size for men’s average and large, but make sure to sign up for my email list to find out as soon as the smaller sizes have been released! And if you’re anything like me, and your…

The Men’s Golf Cap Crochet Pattern
The Men’s Golf Cap Crochet Pattern is modern and unique. It’s perfect for the man in your life as a birthday or father’s day gift. I’ve already made one for my husband Jonathan as you can see in these photos, he has now asked me to make him another one in blue and I’m fully planning on making one for my dad for Father’s Day as well! The inspiration for this pattern came from my husband. Jonathan looks great in hats, like the Cabled Beanie, and yes I realize I might be just a little bit biased, but I knew I wanted to make him something he can wear in…

Jean Skirt Crochet Pattern
As soon as I heard about Lion Brand Jeans Yarn, I knew I wanted to design a Jean Skirt Crochet Pattern to make with it! I love wearing skirts, I wear them all the time. This is actually my second crochet skirt design. The first was the Velvet Skirt that was published as a guest post on the E’Claire Makery Blog! Lion Brand Jeans Yarn is such a beautiful yarn, each color they offer is gorgoeus. I love working with it, it’s by far one of my favorite yarns! The process of designing took me much longer than expected. I’m a bit of a perfectionist and made, (pulled apart), and…

Men’s Striped Necktie Crochet Pattern
My husband is the most supportive person in my life and I love having him wear my designs, like this Men’s Striped Necktie Crochet Pattern or The Jonathan Beanie and seeing him beam with pride. When Jonathan asked me to make him a tie, I knew right away that I wanted to use the shades of Lion Brand Jeans Yarn, it gives it a casual look, which in my opinion is fitting for a crocheted tie! This pattern comes in three men’s sizes, which makes it the perfect quick crochet gift for any man in your life. It’s great for Father’s Day for that hard to shop for dad! And…

Spring Beret Crochet Pattern
One of the first things I’ve wanted to design is a Beret! Some call it a Tam or I’ve even heard it called a Chemo Hat. I’ve always called it a Beret, but maybe because that’s all of my French Canadian education! I wear them all the time. I love the look and the feel (it’s so light-weight I sometimes forget I’m wearing a hat)! One of the biggest issues I had was trying to find a yarn that had the right weight and colors, I wanted something that would match most of my outfits (which consist mainly of blues, pinks and purples!). Comfy Cozy Knits Hand Dyed Yarn! I’ve…

Triceratops Crochet Pattern
The design for Sammy the ‘Ceratops came about when I was trying to decide what to give my son Samuel for his first birthday! For Christmas, my husband and I bought these giant dinosaur stuffed animals for the boys, a Brontosaurus and a Triceratops. I personally love triceratops and think they are super adorable, so I decided to make a smaller one for Samuel. My son Edward, who is just over two years old, of course can’t pronounce Triceratops properly and calls them Ceratops, which I decided was a perfectly good name for this little guy! The construction of this amigurumi is different than other patterns, I’m not a big…
