Cabled Beanie Crochet Pattern for Men

Man looking in the distance wearing blue crochet cabled beanie. An autumn tree with red leaves is seen in the background.

I love crocheting for my family! I love seeing them wear the pieces I have made them like this Cabled Beanie. I might be a bit biased, but I do think Jonathan looks great in this hat, and the cables make the beanie unique and interesting and the blue is such a nice pop of colour!

I’ve designed this pattern to come in several sizes for boys and men, this post only includes the size for men’s average and large, but make sure to sign up for my email list to find out as soon as the smaller sizes have been released! And if you’re anything like me, and your head is the same size as your husband, you might just steal it for yourself because it also looks great on women!

The Yarn

I found this gorgeous yarn in Calgary this summer when I was there for Our Maker Life Conference, which was amazing by the way! I’m fairly new to the yarn world, so needless to say I am not familiar with every brand name out there and had never heard of Universal Yarn, but I saw this skein of Denim Heather Uptown Worsted, and fell in love with the colour. My husband normally prefers wearing neutrals like the grey of the Jonathan Beanie, but he even loves wearing this blue!
